Task 2: History
Louie Le Prince
first film
Louis Aimé Augustin Le Prince was a French artist and the inventor of an early motion-picture camera, possibly the first person to shoot a moving picture sequence using a single lens camera and a strip of film.
In 1886 he created a 16-lens camera and applied for an American patent on 2 November of the same year, receiving this at the beginning of 1888; on 16 November 1888, he received a British patent for his invention.
The world's earliest surviving motion-picture film, showing actual consecutive action is called Round hay Garden Scene. It's a short film directed by French inventor Louis Le Prince. While it's just 2.11 seconds long, it is technically a movie.

Thomas Edison
Thomas Alva Edison was an American inventor and businessman. He developed many devices in fields such as electric power generation, mass communication, sound recording, and motion picturesOne of the most famous and prolific inventors of all time, Thomas Alva Edison exerted a tremendous influence on modern life, contributing inventions such as the incandescent light bulb, the phonograph, and the motion picture camera, as well as improving the telegraph and telephone

Lumiere Brothers
first film
The Lumière brothers, Auguste Marie Louis Nicolas Lumière and Louis Jean Lumière, were French manufacturers of photography equipment, best known for their Cinématographe motion picture system and the short films they produced between 1895 and 1905, which places them among the earliest filmmakers. In 1895, Louis and Auguste Lumière gave birth to the big screen thanks to their revolutionary camera and projector, the Cinématographe. Auguste and Louis Lumière invented a camera that could record, develop, and project film, but they regarded their creation as little more than a curious novelty.

Edwin s. porter
Edwin Stanton Porter was an American film pioneer, most famous as a producer, director, studio manager and cinematographer with the Edison Manufacturing Company and the Famous Players Film CompanyThe pioneer U.S. film director Edwin S. Porter revolutionised filmmaking by inventing the technique of dramatic editing (piecing together scenes shot at different times and places).

Task 3 : Narrative
Enigma codes : are the “revelation of truth”. The producer of the media text will deliberately create a plot point that raises questions and teases the audience so we read on to resolve the mystery.
Linear : chronological order of events

Non-Linear : order of events jump around in terms of flashbacks.

multi stand Narratives: narratives contains different acts

Serial Narrative :a story arc that runs across all episodes
Series narrative: Each episode comprises of self contained narrative

Flexi - Narrative : Mixture of series and serial closure of one story arc within an episode but other ongoing story arcs
unrestricted Narrative: the viewer is privy to certain knowledge or info that is denied to characters within the text
Episodic Drama : involves different characters and locations covers a lengthy period of time and includes sub plots in addition to main story

restricted narrative: the amount of info that the audience are given is limited as the viewers only know as much as the character

Task 5: Purpose
1.Manipulating the sense of time
Flashback can take you back in time which manipulates the sense of time montage editing includes random unrelated shots that happen in non chronological order which can be used to manipulate the sense of time Jump cuts cuts between two sequential shots and gives the effect of moving forward in time
2. Controlling the perception of space to create a logical believe space between characters
To create a logical and believable space the techniques that would be useful is the 180 degree rule because the cameras stay in a stationary position and shots stay the same opposite side of the scene and angles as well .i would also use cutway to show the surroundings in the scene to make believable and to make it seem boring if its focused on specific area for believable for entire scene. I Will also use match on action to control the space as continuity can be used to show off the characters and the enviorment
LAA: Core Assesment
The film I have chosen is black panther mostly uses non continuity editing which means that you cannot tell if it is the start middle or end in non-chronical order in this trailer there are various effects and editing techniques including washes fades blackouts and fades. This effect of using non continuity editing is that it keeps the audience guessing so that keeps them more engaged in the trailer in making them want to see it more. At 0.06 there was a use of fade to black transition to protray and the ending of scene and the beginning of a new scene. There was some use of quick cuts in this trailer because they are usually used in action scenes to create energy. Throughout this trailer they are used cause there many actions. scene this makes the audience more excited and more tense wondering what is going to happen next. There was a cut in technique used in the Trailer to show closer point of view of the fighting action scene used in the trailer.
There was a use of slow Mo in the trailer at 0.13 and the use of slow Mo is to create a dramatic and sad moment on things when they were dancing to celebrate the death of someone, they add slow Mo to make the effect greater. They use slow walking as slow Mo in this trailer and what the audience could take from this could be connotations of angelic and magical cultural Traditionals. They also use another Stright cut when car does a backflip onto another onto the road the use of this really shows the audience the action is intense and something dangerous is about to happen.

Also in the film black panther tralier there was a use of eyeline match looking around 1;09 this helps the audience to see what the charcaters was looking helps to show mvc facial expressions. At the end of all this believe that there a lot of useful techquies for eediting that really express this tralier propley
Tv promo
Power ghost season 2
At the video's beginning, the editing technique was flashbacks of what happened to show what the main character had just experienced. The creator of this promo really used this technique show different events happening in the main characters life in just one flashback in these flash back mvc is used a lot has it was a series in events in this flashback technique. In my opinion I think that the editors done an excellent job as they want the audience to feel a bit on edged wanting to know what's happening next and create that suspense and tension
In this Tv promo a series of Stright cut shots are used across the whole tv promo I believe this because it a fast-playing tv show at shots are taken then taken in a different place. The effect of using it keeps the audience excited and never bored as they would not know what to expect as there are so many things happening in various places. I believe that the editor could have used fades and effects to make more exciting for the audience and more interested to want to see about to happen. Made it would be gone to see 180-degree rules put into action as well
In this tv promo we can see the editing transition of fade as the screen fade in to black then straight into the next scene. The use of this fade it makes it more exciting as it is not released into one section exposing a lot of things in one go in fact fade makes it better because the audience will never know what is about to happen keeping them on edge because the fade could connate a lot of things such as death and darkness and more. I think the editor has done this to show various levels within this tv promo as in when something is getting to its peak as in someone dying and fade comes in it calms everything make everyone tense not knowing what is about to happen vice vera in other situations
Music video j hus
The music video starts off with the editing technique of fading into black then into another scene from the start. This shows the audience the contrast of the music video as it's dark then the fog fading which makes the whole video look better and makes the audience eager to know and to hear more of the music video. I believe the director of the music put a lot of editing techniques like this one to really make it stand out I believe iso was applied due to the darkness out at night so we could see properly
I believe elliptical editing was used in this music video so that the audience or the viewers can experience the shortened bit of the music video which could have taken hours or days to make. Also, I believe that straight cuts were used in this music video I was taken in one place and then next in another place this makes audience feel or could tell them that the video is constantly in different places which makes it more exciting for the viewers to Watch and hear
Continuity video Experiment

For my continuity sequence i was asked to pick out of 4 scenarios and film, and edit a sequence. the one i picked was the laptop one . the reason i had picked this one was because i thought it was the easiest sequence . the aim of the sequence was to not break continuity through the whole sequence . i used cross cutting through my sequence to make it more better and interseting and it is also a editing techquine. i believe that i could improve the bit when hes using the computer to make the continuity look even better

i used match on action and jump cuts so that it could suit the purpose of the continuity as it so effective within its use as most professional use this type of technique as it draws the audience allowing them to become intrested within the whole sequcence . the whole point of this was allow the sequence to move smoothly and fullfil the whole task of continuity and not break which i believe was very effective
non continuity Experiment

i was asked to produce a non- continuity sequence of 4 different scenarios. i chose the promotional advert to product advert for a product. i chose this sequence because cause i believed it would be the easiet to do
and to implement the different types editing techniques.

I used different editing techniques when using this promotional advert such as montage editing and cross cutting and video transitions within the sequence to make it look more interesting . i used inspiration from other promotional adverts such as tesco and subways and other famous brands for adverts such as perfumes
T he jump cuts i used of the subject doing different things establishes no continuity as it is not in within the sequence . i also used zooming and thought this was used very well as it draw the audinece in allowing them to the promotional advert better in different light. This is very effective as most professional promotional adverts
